Translation is an intellectual activity, which can be properly performed only by highly educated and skilled professionals. The cost of a translation is determined, among other factors, by the volume of the text to be translated (word count), the languages and subject matter areas involved, the available time, and any special client requirements.
Bokor Language Service can provide you with a binding quote on a translation if we have a copy of the entire document to be translated. Please send it to the email address gabe[at]bokorlang[dot]com. If we have only a representative sample of the document or its description, we can give you an estimate to be adjusted when we can examine the entire document.
We do not use machine translation, and we do not subcontract translations. We use translation memory tools in some cases where they can contribute to the consistency and quality of the translation. This is why we prefer to receive the source text in electronic format, preferably as a Microsoft Word® file. For other formats a surcharge may apply.
We will quote on and accept editing jobs if we can previously examine both the original and the translation, or if we know the translator whose work we are to edit.
We do not do verbal interpreting.
We require private individuals to pay in advance for any translation job. New clients are subject to a credit check. In all cases we need to have a written Purchase Order (e-mail is OK) specifying the price, deadline, and payment terms previously agreed upon before we can start working on a translation.
We accept payment via PayPal or check. Any costs for bank transfers are borne by the client.
