Thank You! by Gabe Bokor

he first issue of the Translation Journal appeared four years ago, in June 1997. Four years and over 120,000 readers later, the Journal is a recognized leader among on-line and off-line translators' publications. The tiny first issue has grown to a book-sized volume with articles contributed by translators from all over the world. One sign of success is that when I recently typed the word "translation" in Google's search box, the Translation Journal appeared among the first ten out of over 4 million hits.
So this is the time to say a heart-felt Thank You to those who made this success possible: to our contributors who have so selflessly shared their expertise with their colleagues, to our readers, who have given us valuable feedback and support, and to our volunteer editors and proofreaders who have given their time and effort to make this publication even better. We also wish to thank our advertisers who have helped to cover some of the costs associated with the publication of an on-line journal. While we incur no printing or mailing costs with this publication and hosting is shared with Accurapid's commercial Web site, our advertisers' dollars have helped us purchase new clip art collections to illustrate the Journal and additional disk space from our Web host to accommodate all the 17 issues published so far and which are still available at the click of the mouse.
With your help we will ensure the continued presence of this publication in Cyberspace with free quality information for translators that is not available anywhere else at any price. |
